During the solemn days leading up to Tisha B'Av, we invite you to a special community screening of UnBroken, a powerful documentary that tells the remarkable true story of the Weber family–seven Jewish siblings who survived Nazi Germany by staying together after losing their mother at Auschwitz.
This screening holds special significance for our community, as one of those siblings was the late Gertrude Weber, mother of our community member Lynn Chapman, who passed away earlier this year. Before the film, Lynn will share personal reflections and photos from her recent journey to Berlin, where she retraced her mother's childhood and explored her family's history.
Directed by Lynn's first cousin, Beth Lane, UnBroken is a moving story of courage, resilience, and the enduring strength of family. As we observe the Nine Days and reflect on the tragedies that have shaped the Jewish people, this evening offers a meaningful opportunity to remember, honor, and help ensure these stories continue to be shared for generations to come.
